True meaning of Father's Day...

What dad doesn't like peanuts, mint oreos and root beer? Addie's been busy at daycare, Scott's wearing this for casual Friday
First trip on the boat. We didn't even bake her but it was close.

Scott spent is Father's Day the old fashion way...with his kids. To start his morning off he relieved me (mom) at 730 am as our darling Addie decided to rise at 5 am and then went back to bed at 545 with Ethan rising at 600. I let Scott sleep in until 730 when I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. He then got to experience a typical morning of potty training, or should I say screaming training. We have started potty training last Monday and Ethan is shooting around 50%. Let's just say mornings are not the positive, "yeah you did it" moments around here. We then proceeded to load the boat up and all of my crap for a day outing to the lake. Not to our luck, Ethan and Addie both fell asleep in the 10 minute car ride and needless to say the flaming (and I mean flaming!) terrible two's so pleasantly spent the rest of the day with us. But Scott was a trooper. We spent most of the time on the boat applying sunscreen, watching Ethan stick his fishing pole in the water, applying sunscreen, watching Ethan fall off the boat chairs, applying sunscreen, watching Ethan have a temper tantrum on the floor, applying sunscreen and watching Scott drink beer. (good thing I only packed 2 cans). At one point, Scott and I looked at each other and said we should have brought the hard stuff. Anyways, after we managed to tame the beast we got the boat loaded and went for dip, after applying more sunscreen of course. Addie did NOT enjoy the chilly lake water but Ethan was a super fish. Swimming went better than fishing...must be more a 2 year old's pace. We loaded up and headed home with 2 extremely passed out children in the back seat. Scott and I were able to enjoy a few hours of peace and quiet and then we start all over again...on the potty...but we had success so it was all worth it!! Here's to Scott! our favorite dad of this household.
