Fun in the Sun

Aahh, yes we are back from a week long relaxing getaway to punta cana in the Dominican Republic. Not alot to say except it was beautiful, relaxing and very enjoyable. Enjoyed temps in the low 80's, a cool breeze and bright blue sky all week long. Ventured out deep sea fishing, ziplining and booze cruising on a catamaran. Mary and Andy enjoyed tag teaming with us as well. Minus Andy's bought of the stomach flu that had him laid up for 3 days, he was a trooper and attempted all the activities that were already planned. Never fails though when you have to return to reality, ie. getting stuck in our own driveway on the way home, having to snowblow at 1230 in the morning, Ethan getting pneumonia and having to stay home the following week with Grandpa Jim (thank you thank you thank you!), Scott having to fly out in 12 hours after we returned for a work trip to Philly (in which he got stuck in a Blizzard and had plane delay after plane delay). Let's just say we are already talking about where we are going next! And for that matter we also decided we are going longer than 7 days!

3 is the magic number

Is it my birthday? Is today my birthday? How many more days till my birthday? My Birthday is today?! Aahh, yes, thought I would share with you what Scott and I have heard a million and one times since September. I have never seen a 3 year old so excited for his birthday that it almost overlooked Christmas. Ethan was spoiled as usual and got to have 2 Birthday parties. One thanks to G&G Harms and another to Auntie Liz and Uncle Rich. (In case you were counting there are 10 little boys and 2 little girls at this Christmas day bash). Ethan got oodles of fun new toys and books, loved stuffing his face with yummy cake but most of all enjoyed his "Happy Birthday" song at G&G's party. He grinned from ear to ear. Now hopefully we have a few months to enjoy some peace and quiet until he starts asking about his 4th Birthday.

I think Santa's Elves threw up all over our living room
