Halloween? Sounds like a good holiday to me...

Like Father, Like Son

Ethan will use anything for a teether.

Meeting Genevieve

This past weekend we ventured to Milwaukee to visit some good friends and to meet Sarah and Matt Maio's new baby girl, Genevieve (5 weeks) . Robin, Kyle and Miles (5 months) also made the trip from Rochester. It was fun to get together again with the "college gang". Shawn and Melissa Bansemar also dropped by for a visit. Hard to believe we added 3 new people this year.

10 months old

Ethan turned 10 months old on 10/24. He is crawling all over the place, standing on furniture and looking like he went through combat. He has gotten numerous bumps and bruises from his new found exploring. Scott and I are can't believe how busy he has gotten in just the last 2 weeks.

I'm ready for pick up...

Hey- I heard Godfather Andy and Grandpa Jim are heading out to North Dakota for some duck hunting. I have my bags packed and my hand-me-down camo outfit fits great. Let ma know what time you'll be here so she can have me fed and a clean diaper. You know where I live. Later. E
PS the butt flap works great. Can't wait to test it
out in the woods.

Ethan's new found love

Ethan has now figured out how to pull himself up and keep himself amused for about 5 minutes as he totters around our sofa. He also loves this really annoying musical standing toy that his Godmother let us use. Thanks Mary! Grandma and Grandpa Harms visited this past weekend. We went to Amnicon falls, the Rose Garden and out to eat to Rapids. Also last weekend was my 29th Birthday and we met up with my parents and camped at Gooseberry State Park. It was a little chilly but we did manage to have one good day without rain. We went on a few long hikes, made pudgy pies and of course I enjoyed my birthday breakfast complete with my one guest Ethan and my parents singing Happy Birthday with a spatula (had to be there I guess). I was also treated to lunch at Betty's Pies...mmmm. Scott had to leave on Sunday and when I got home on Monday he had made steak dinner and cleaned the house! Funny how that seemed to be just what I wanted. I don't have any pics from our camping weekend as my camera battery died. I'll have to have my mom email some.

9 month appt

Ethan had his 9 month doctor's appt on Monday. He is now 2 ft 5 in (29 inches) and weighs 22.5 lbs.

Apple orchards

We went to Bayfield apple orchards last weekend and found some honeycrisp apples, hot caramel apples and picked some yummy blueberries from the field. It was a little misty but managed to find goodies none the less. Apple fest is this coming weekend. Scott and I have learned it is best to avoid the crowds. Scott and I also celebrated our 5th anniversary Saturday night. My gracious friend and co-worker took Ethan overnight and Scott and I headed into Duluth for dinner and a movie. We felt like we were teenagers again staying out until 1 am.( And boy was it nice to sleep in until 9 am the next day!)

Time for Big Boy Crib

Scott and I awoke to giggling, wall pounding and crib squeeking only to find the above. Ethan has now learned to pull himself up in bed. This particular morning he had a lot of fun tossing his monitor on the floor that is placed on a bookshelf right next to his crib. Needless to say the mobile is now retired and his mattress got lowered to the shortest height possible. Oh how times have changed in just 9 short months.
