Ethan turned 9 months old today. He has now mastered the army crawl, throwing his food on the ground, and recognizing when mom and dad leave the room. He likes to get into his books and eat them. He also enjoys playing peeking a boo with dad and is learning how to wave bye-bye. Here are some extra pics from mom's cheap photo session at home.

Meet Ethan's new friend
Genevieve Gabriella Maio was born to our good friends Sarah and Matt on 9/21 at 3 am. They live in Wauwatosa, WI (near Milwaukee). She was 8 lb 2 oz and definitely got mom and dad's dark hair locks. (Maybe Ethan could borrow a little). We can't wait to meet her when we head down the end of October for a visit.
Buddy Walk 2008
The whole gang went to Como Park Zoo today for the Annual Buddy Walk. This was a first for both Ethan and I to walk on Alex's All-Star team. It was a HOT day but a lot of fun and a lot of exercise. Afterwards, we had a picnic lunch, birthday cake for Bonnie, Alex and Aidan, and toured the zoo. Ethan loved the walk but finally crashed looking at the tigers and proceeded to sleep the whole way home to Poplar. Too much excitement I guess.
Car races
mid
Ethan, Grandpa, Grandma, Noah, Ian, Ben, Rich and I all went to the car races on Saturday night to watch cousin Nick race. It was a task keeping ear plugs in Ethan and even though it was so loud he managed to spend the first half sleeping. He woke up just in time to see Nick lead for 15 laps and then his car pooped out on him and he ended up having to leave mid race. Good thing he left because after that came crash after crash and the race was called complete with 5 laps to go as there were not very many cars that remained.

Fall Lake Camping Trip
Scott, Ethan and I went on a family camping trip to Fall Lake, about 10 miles north of Ely, 9/12-9/15. Some might call us nuts but we managed with no heat and no electricity for the 3 days. It was a little on the chilly side...aka 38 degrees at night...and a little on the rainy side...aka rain started at 3 pm on Saturday and rain stopped at 9 am Monday, but we managed to get in a 5 mile hike and ALOT of playtime in the tent with Ethan. Ethan loved the hike, never heard a peep out of him. Guess he will fit in just fine in this family; there will be many miles of hiking ahead of him.
